Position: Insolvency Manager

Pareto Money Management Ltd are an established, privately owned Insolvency Practice based in Liverpool, Merseyside, employing 15 staff responsible for handling approximately 800 IVA cases.

The Role

Oversee the daily functions of the department whilst ensuring workload is allocated accordingly and completed in a timely and competent manner. You must be able to work under pressure and to deadlines whilst using your own initiative.

Salary: £25,000 per annum depending on experience

Shifts: 40 hour week Monday to Friday

Main Duties including but not limited to:

The main responsibilities of the role will be to:
  • Oversee and ensure efficient running of IVAs.
  • Preparing Reports to creditors for signing off by Insolvency Practitioner
  • Reviewing files prior to Variation Report to creditors for viability of variation being successful and drafting reports.
  • Monitoring staff performance through KPI's and time sheets
  • To liaise with team members, coaching them in carrying out tasks to ensure that IVAs are supervised appropriately and in accordance with insolvency laws and regulations.
  • To ensure the overall running of IVA team is in accordance with best business practices and ensure they are working efficiently at all times.
  • To ensure all staff are provided with the tools and information to efficiently manage their work load.
  • To ensure the necessary reports and information are supplied to outside agencies, including creditors and their representatives.
  • To ensure that creditor information is kept up to date and updates circulated to the whole department.
  • To build and maintain relationships with creditors and their representatives i.e. TIX, Max Recovery, GT etc.
  • To review all files on the six month of each year of the IVA to ensure the necessary compliance checks are carried out and followed up in the event irregularities are noted.
  • To provide day to day technical advice to any staff who require it and where necessary be able to investigate more complex case issues.
  • To monitor the turnaround in daily post and ensure that technical post and complaints are dealt with appropriately and reported to the IPs.
  • To monitor/report on lateness, sickness and organise shift rota's ensuring there is adequate cover provided particular when staff are on annual leave.

What can you expect?

The successful candidate will be required to work a 40 hour week Monday to Friday. You will work a mixture of shifts dictated to you by your Line Manager between the hours of 9am to 8pm. These will either be 9am to 5pm or 12pm to 8pm. Alongside your salary you can expect all the normal company benefits such as:

The Person

Person Specification

  • Proven insolvency experience
  • Experience of using INSOLV/IPS
  • Self-sufficient, with the ability to plan and manage own caseload
  • Team player
  • Formal qualifications in CPI/JIEB are desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proven planning and prioritising skills
  • Able to work under pressure with accuracy and focus


  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Databases
  • Knowledge of insolvency rules and statutory requirements
  • Advanced analytical and mathematical skills
